Boniphace Massawe, an iAGRI-sponsored Ph.D student in the School of Environment and Natural Resources, is the recent recipient of a student scholarship to attend and present his graduate research at the 2015 Pedomonics Conference in Cordoba, Spain this September. The conference is convened by the International Union of Soil Science (IUSS) and will bring together soil experts from around the world to showcase innovative research on soil modeling, to promote international interaction around emerging pedometric techniques, and to encourage the recognition of the results from pedometric analyses on informing planning and management decisions and public policy.
Boniphace is advised by Dr. Brian Slater, Assistant Director and Associate Professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources and is supported by the Innovative Agricultural Research Initiative (iAGRI) - a major Feed the Future project in Tanzania, funded by USAID and administered by The Ohio State University’s Office of International Programs in Agriculture.
