Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and led by the Office of International Programs in Agriculture in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences since 2011, the Innovative Agricultural Research Initiative (iAGRI) has administered and supported 135 graduate degree programs in the agricultural sciences and nutrition, completed 12 collaborative research programs, and positioned its Tanzanian partner institutions - Sokoine University of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries - to provide leadership to Tanzania’s agricultural sector over the coming decades. iAGRI, which has been extended to September 2017, has raised the national and international visibility and stature of The Ohio State University as a leader in global human and institutional capacity development.
