Nida Ismat, a PhD student from Pakistan, successfully completed a 6-month research visit in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Herbert E. Quintero

Nida's research visit, supported by a scholarship from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, was a great success. As a visiting scholar, she worked on several projects related to her graduate research work, including a fish nutrition study entitled “Aloe vera for enhancing soybean meal (SBM) inclusion in yellow perch (YP) diets.” During her stay, she learned many techniques and skills being used in our laboratories and related facilities. She also participated in a Fish Health Training Program, and toured several aquaculture and aquaponics facilities in Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. A lab member stated, "She brought new perspectives and ideas to our team, and her work has already generated interest among our researchers." She is currently affiliated with The University of Lahore. Nida's research visit strengthened the research ties between The Ohio State University and Pakistani institutions, paving the way for future collaborations and partnerships.
