  4. CFAES faculty and students receive more than $70,000 for international research

    The Office of International Affairs recently awarded more than $150,000 as part of its 2015-2016 Academic Enrichment Grant competition, which supports Ohio State’s Discovery Themes, faculty and student research and the development of new education abroad programs. The grant competition, with separate tracks for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students, was sponsored by the Office of International Affairs, the Office of Research, PHPID, the Office of Undergraduate Education and the China Gateway.

  5. Ohio State Tapped to Lead Major Integrated Pest Management Project in East Africa

    Dr. John Cardina, Professor in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, along with collaborating faculty in the Office of International Programs in Agriculture and four other departments in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), have been awarded the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Innovation Lab project for Vegetable Crops in East Africa.

  7. ESGP Ph.D. Student Selected to Attend Global Food Security Symposium

    Nall Moonilall, a first year Ph.D. student in the Environmental Science Graduate Program, has been selected to serve as a Social Media Ambassador for the upcoming Global Food Security Symposium in Washington, D.C. The annual, one day symposium is convened by the distinguished Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and provides a platform for discussion about the U.S. government and international community’s progress on addressing challenges to food security.

    For the fourth year in a row, The Ohio State University ranks in the top 10 on Peace Corps’ list of the top volunteer-producing large universities. Currently, 42 graduates from Ohio State are making a difference around the world as volunteers, putting the university at No. 10 on the agency’s 2016 list.   10. Tanzanian Ph.D. Student Receives Distinguished AWARD Fellowship

    Frida Nyamete, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Food Science and Technology, was recently named a fellow of the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) Program. Frida is advised by Dr. Hua Wang, Professor in Food Science and Technology, and is funded by the Innovative Agricultural Research Initiative (iAGRI) – a USAID-funded, Feed the Future project in Tanzania led by The Ohio State University.
